Itinerary Description

This is our best East African safari combining both the Masai Mara National Reserve and the Serengeti. You are driving and flying as we have included scheduled flights between some parks to eliminate backtracking great distances by road. This safari really highlights the best parks of Southern Kenya and Northern Tanzania. You should have the opportunity to see the Big 5. In Tanzania you will have a PRIVATE guide and your own vehicle which allows you to dictate the schedule and pace of each day. At each of the accommodations you will meet up with other travelers. In Kenya it is based on group game viewing activities with resident guides.

Naturalist Guides in Tanzania - Our carefully selected group of naturalist guides bring an excellent knowledge of the areas you will visit and have built up an excellent camaraderie with our clients over the years. As you spend several days with the same guide, you maximize seeing and doing “everything” and come away at the end of a trip with “a friend for life”. Day by Day Itinerary

Day 01+02

USA/Europe/Nairobi

Depart this evening on an overnight flight to Europe. Connect with your flight to Nairobi, Kenya. On arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Overnight Ole Sereni Hotel.

Day 03+04

Amboseli

This morning you will transfer to the airport for your scheduled charter flight to Amboseli National Park. On arrival you will be met and driven to camp. Enjoy an afternoon game activity. Activities include game viewing in the park on open-sided safari Land Rovers; walk with a trained Maasai guide, sip sundowners on top of Kitirua hill as the sun sets coloring the snows of Kilimanjaro pink, bush breakfasts out on the plains or a visit to one of the Maasai manyattas (villages) to meet the Maasai women, watch the Morans (young warriors) dance and experience their age-old existence. Enjoy a day of game viewing activities. 2 nights Tortilis Camp or Tawi Lodge.

Day 05+06

Tarangire

This morning you will be transferred to the Tanzania-Kenya border at Namanga where you will clear customs and change vehicles before proceeding to Arusha for lunch. Following lunch depart with your guide and continue to your tented camp located within Tarangire National Park. Activities include, game drives, bird watching (over 300 birds) and cultural visits. 2 nights Tarangire Ndovu Tented Lodge.

Day 07+08

Ngorongoro Crater

Continue to Ngorongoro Crater for crater tour and visit to Masai village. 2 nights Ngorongoro Lion’s Paw Camp.

Day 09

Serengeti

Your journey to Serengeti includes a visit to Olduvai Gorge, the famous archaeological site where the Leakey’s discovered the remains of Australopithecus, Homo Habilis and Homo Erectus. Game drive enroute to your camp in the central Serengeti. Overnight Intimate Camp Seronera.

Day 10+11

Serengeti

Depart this morning and enjoy a day of game viewing as you drive to your next camp, located in the northern Serengeti. You will be based at this camp for two nights. A day of game viewing usually consists of morning and afternoon game drives. Your days are very flexible where you can take a packed breakfast and leave at sunrise and return to camp for lunch. Or you can depart after breakfast and go for the whole day with a picnic lunch. 2 nights KazKaz Mara Camp.

Day 12-14

Maasai Mara

Fly to Maasai Mara. Board your connecting scheduled charter flight. Upon arrival you will be met by your guide and driven to camp. Activities offered include shared game drives, walking safaris in the Mara Conservation area, and visits to a local Maasai community supported by the camp. Riverside bush breakfasts, sundowners and dinners can be arranged. Optional balloon safaris can be arranged. Enjoy two full days of game viewing. 3 nights Little Governor’s, Sala’s Camp, Serian Original Camp or Naboisho.

Day 15+16

Maasai Mara/Nairobi/Europe/USA

Fly to Nairobi. On arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel where a dayroom has been reserved for you. This evening depart on your overnight international flight to Europe. Dayroom: Four Points by Sheraton. Connecting international flight. Welcome home!
