Itinerary Description

This Tanzanian Honeymoon safari begins with a private guide and vehicle for exploring the Rift Valley and Ngorongoro Crater and Serengeti. Three nights in the Serengeti offers two full days of game drives in this magnificent game park. The program ends with three relaxing nights on the tropical island of Zanzibar.

Day by Day Itinerary

Day 01

Arrive Kilimanjaro / Arusha

On arrival in Kilimanjaro,  Tanzania, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Enjoy the evening at leisure. Overnight Kahawa Cottages.

Day 02

Ngorongoro Crater

Depart Arusha with your private guide and continue by road to Gibb’s Farm, where you will have a delightful lunch followed by a tour of the farm (drinks payable directly). Later this afternoon, proceed to your lodge and enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure. Overnight Lion’s Paw or Laba Ngorongoro or Melia Ngorongoro Lodge.

Day 03

Ngorongoro Crater

Depart early this morning to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, descending 2000 feet by four-wheel drive vehicle for a morning game drive  (total viewing time allowed by National Parks is six hours). At lunch time, you will be driven to Lion’s Paw Camp for a delicious lunch overlooking the crater. In the afternoon you will return to the crater floor for an extended game drive. This evening, a special dinner will be served to you at your lodge. Overnight Lion’s Paw or Laba Ngorongoro or Melia Ngorongoro Lodge.

Day 04-06

Serengeti

Depart this morning with your private guide and drive to the Serengeti. Enjoy lunch followed by an afternoon game drive. Enjoy two full days of game viewing. By having your own vehicle and guide you can ensure you can do what you want when you want to do it – be that following the wildebeest, sitting by a waterhole or just waiting to get that perfect photograph. 3 nights Olmara Camp or Siringit Serengeti or Lemala Nanyukie.

Day 07-09

Zanzibar

Game drive en route to the airstrip. Board your scheduled charter flight to Zanzibar, flying via Arusha. Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to your resort or hotel. Enjoy two days at leisure to relax and explore. Optional touring available. 3 nights Matlai Boutique Hotel, Zawadi Hotel, Baraza or Zuri Zanzibar.

Day 10

Zanzibar/Depart

Enjoy the morning at leisure. (Please note that check-out of your room is at 10:00 am. Your bags will be stored in the bellman’s office and you are welcome to use the resort’s facilities.) This afternoon you will be transferred to town for a private tour of Stone Town followed by a late lunch at a charming local restaurant. You will be transferred to the Zanzibar airport.
