Itinerary Description

This is an affordable, standard group lodge safari that is all driving through Kenya and Tanzania. It visits all the main parks in each country offering a wide diversity of ecosystems and scenery. Your guides in Kenya and Tanzania will have an excellent knowledge of the areas you visit. Your vehicles are specially constructed to make photography easy. You are guaranteed a window seat with a maximum of seven people. A 4-wheel drive Landrover is used. The highlight of your safari will be experiencing both the Maasai Mara in Kenya and the Serengeti in Tanzania.

Day by Day Itinerary

Day 01

Arrive Nairobi

On arrival in Nairobi, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Enjoy the evening at leisure. Overnight Nairobi Serena Hotel.

Day 02+03

Maasai Mara

Depart after breakfast on your own group safari driving through the Rift Valley to the Maasai Mara National Reserve arriving at your lodge for lunch. Take an afternoon game drive in the park. You will have a morning and afternoon game drive in the Mara. An optional balloon safari may be taken. 2 nights Mara Serena Safari Lodge.

Day 04

Lake Nakuru

Continue to Lake Nakuru National Park for lunch. Enjoy an afternoon game drive in the park. Overnight Lake Elmenteita Serena Camp.

Day 05+06

Amboseli

Early morning guided bird walk. Following breakfast, depart with your guide and leave the Rift Valley behind, proceed to Nairobi where you will enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. Continue south towards Amboseli arriving at your lodge by late afternoon. Day 06 – Depart the lodge after a sumptuous breakfast for a full day game drive. Enjoy a picnic lunch at a picnic site returning to the lodge at approximately 4:00 pm. Enjoy two days of game viewing. 2 nights Amboseli Serena Safari Lodge.

Day 07

Tarangire

Today depart by road to the Namanga border and bid farewell to your Kenyan guide. You will clear Customs and Immigration into Tanzania, where you will be met and transferred to Arusha in time for lunch.  Depart with your Tanzanian group and guide this afternoon and drive to Tarangire  National Park. Game drive enroute to your safari lodge. Overnight Tarangire Sopa Lodge.

Day 08

Lake Manyara National Park

This morning enjoy game viewing within the park in search of its large lion prides and elephant herds.  Drive through the baobab tree lined park and explore the silale swamp. Return to your lodge for lunch. Later in the day continue through the scenic escarpment to your lodge perched on the edge of the Rift Valley. Overnight Lake Manyara Serena Lodge.

Day 09+10

Serengeti

Morning game drive in Lake Manyara National Park. Return to your lodge for lunch before departing for the Serengeti, game viewing enroute to your lodge. Next morning enjoy a day of game viewing. 2 nights Serengeti Serena Safari Lodge. 

Day 11+12

Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast you depart for the Ngorongoro Crater with a picnic lunch viewing wildlife across the vast Serengeti plains. You will arrive at your lodge late in the afternoon. Next morning descend into the crater for a game drive.  You will have a picnic lunch on the crater floor.  Enjoy the evening at leisure. 2 nights Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge.

Day 13

Nairobi

Following breakfast, depart with your guide and continue by vehicle to Arusha, arriving in time for lunch at a local restaurant (drinks payable directly). Continue to Nairobi where you will be driven to your hotel and bid farewell to your guide. Enjoy the evening at leisure. Overnight Nairobi Serena Hotel.

Day 14

Nairobi

Enjoy the morning at leisure. (Please note room checkout time is 10:00am, an optional dayroom can be arranged for additional fee). You will be privately transferred to the Nairobi International Airport.
