The Wida Family – Wildlife and Wilderness Safari to Tanzania

August 12, 2020 Client Trip Reports

Mkenda, one of our clients’ favorite private guides, has an update for us from Tanzania!

“The Wida family arrived this weekend and are doing well! While in Tarangire, we’ve seen lots of elephants, 6 lions, monitor lizard, bat-eared fox and a genet. We even saw a cheetah, so lucky to see one in Tarangire! The Wida family and I are staying at Tarangire Balloon Camp. We are the only people at the camp for these two nights. The staff are equipped with all standard operating procedures protocol like spraying sanitizers and taking temperatures whenever we come back from game drive. They also check in with us and make us feel welcome, which has made everything to be super!”Mkenda and the Widas are off to Lake Eyasi tomorrow, followed by Ngorongoro and the Serengeti. It’s so heartwarming to see AAC clients on safari once again!

Mkenda and the Wida family have some updates from their time on safari in Lake Eyasi and Ngorongoro Crater!

“Today the clients enjoyed visiting a primary school near Lake Eyasi. It is supported by the Africa Adventure Company and Ziwani Lodge, where we are staying. The Widas gave the school kids books, pens and two soccer balls to the school. The primary school will be getting in contact with the Wida kids’ school in America – they hope their school can help solve some challenges the Lake Eyasi primary school is facing! The following day we checked in at Ngorongoro Farm House. They gave us a warm welcome and followed all the SOPS.We had an amazing first day in the crater! We were very lucky as we saw the big five! We had a long day, but not a wrong day, as we left at six and came back at six. We saw huge elephant crossing the road and a rhino from a distance, big Buffaloes close by and huge male lions on the rock outcrop, and a leopard while driving on the Crater rim that was awesome. We also visited a Maasai village where we played with the kids and enjoyed the dancing by Maasai. The clients were blown away!”

We look forward to their photos and stories from the Serengeti, the last part of the Wida’s Tanzanian safari!

On their last day at Ngorongoro, the Wida family said goodbye to their gregarious guide Mkenda. They then boarded a charter flight to their safari’s final destination: the Northern Serengeti. What an eventful 4 days on safari! They saw lions, cheetahs, giraffes, elephants, zebras, and, of course, wildebeests crossing the Mara River – thanks to their guides Nuhu and Muhammad! The Widas were also very complimentary of their experience at Nimali Mara Camp – from the fantastic food, superb service, to the stylish tents, it was a wonderful way to end their terrific safari to Tanzania!
