Itinerary Description

AAC has custom-designed this suggested safari itinerary for families! It offers fabulous pricing for children and parents. Your Private naturalist guides are excellent at working with families.
You are staying in a first class, mobile-tented camp in the Serengeti combined with two classic permanent tented camps. You will drive from park to park where you will be able to enjoy the African scenery including the Great Rift Valley. Activities include game drives, walks, and cultural visit with the local Maasai people.

Day by Day Itinerary

Day 01

Arrive Arusha

On arrival into Kilimanjaro, Tanzania, you will be met and transferred to your hotel in Arusha. Enjoy the evening at leisure. Overnight Rivertrees Country Inn.

Day 02

Tarangire

After breakfast, depart with your family and private guide to Tarangire. Enjoy lunch along the way before continuing on an afternoon game drive en route to your camp. Overnight Kuro Tarangire.

Day 03

Tarangire

Enjoy a full day of game drives and activities. This evening enjoy a shared night game drive (conducted by a camp guide and vehicle). Overnight Kuro Tarangire.

Day 04

Ngorongoro Crater

Depart this morning with your private guide and vehicle and drive to Mto wa Mbu village. You will have a tour of the village followed by lunch in a banana plantation. Enroute to your lodge, visit a local Maasai boma. Continue to your lodge located near the Ngorongoro Crater. Overnight Entamanu Ngorongoro Camp.

Day 05

Ngorongoro Crater

Early morning departure to the Crater Rim and descend for a morning of game viewing on the crater floor. Enjoy a picnic lunch on the crater floor and continue with an afternoon of game viewing.  A fabulous day! Overnight Entamanu Ngorongoro Camp.

Day 06

Serengeti

JAN-MAR / JUN – Depart from the Ngorongoro Crater and continue to the southern (Jan-Mar) or western (Jun) Serengeti, game viewing enroute. Once you have an opportunity to settle into camp and enjoy lunch, head out for an afternoon game drive. Overnight Serengeti Safari Camp.

JUL-OCT – Transfer to the Lake Manyara airstrip for your scheduled charter flight to the northern Serengeti. On arrival, you will be met by your private guide and continue to camp. Once you have an opportunity to settle into camp and enjoy lunch, head out for an afternoon game drive. Overnight Serengeti Safari Camp.

Day 07+08

Serengeti

Enjoy two days of private game viewing. An optional balloon safari can be arranged (additional fees apply). 2 nights Serengeti Safari Camp.

Day 09

Serengeti / Arusha / Kilimanjaro

Game drive en route to the airstrip for your scheduled charter flight to Arusha. On arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel where a dayroom has been reserved until this evening’s airport transfer. Enjoy time to relax before transferring this evening to the Kilimanjaro International Airport. Dayroom: Rivertrees Country Inn.
