Itinerary Description

AAC has custom-designed this suggested safari itinerary for families! It offers fabulous pricing for children and parents. Your Private naturalist guides are excellent at working with families.
You are staying in luxury permanent tented camps and a lodge. You will drive from park to park where you will be able to enjoy the African scenery including the Great Rift Valley. Activities include game drives, walks, and cultural visit with the local Maasai people.

Day by Day Itinerary

Day 01

Arrive Arusha

On arrival into Kilimanjaro, Tanzania, you will be met and transferred to your hotel in Arusha. Enjoy the evening at leisure. Overnight Arusha Coffee Lodge.

Day 02

Tarangire

After breakfast, depart with your family and private guide to Tarangire.  Enjoy lunch along the way before continuing on an afternoon game drive en route to your camp. Overnight Tarangire Treetops.

Day 03

Tarangire

Enjoy a picnic lunch and a full day of game drives and activities. This evening enjoy a shared night game drive (conducted by a camp guide and vehicle). Overnight Tarangire Treetops.

Day 04

Ngorongoro Crater

This morning you will depart your camp and visit a Maasai village.  Continue to Gibb’s Farm where you will have a guided tour of the farm, followed by lunch. Later this afternoon you will be driven to your next camp at the Ngorongoro Crater. Overnight Ngorongoro Lion’s Paw Camp.

Day 05

Ngorongoro Crater

Early morning departure to the Crater Rim and descend for a morning of game viewing on the crater floor. Enjoy a picnic lunch on the crater floor and continue with an afternoon of game viewing.  A fabulous day! Overnight Ngorongoro Lion’s Paw Camp.

Day 06

Serengeti

JAN-JUN / NOV-DEC – After breakfast you will continue by road, via Oldupai and Shifting Sands, to your next camp located in the Serengeti. Once you have an opportunity to settle into camp and enjoy lunch, head out for an afternoon game drive. Overnight Pioneer Camp.

JUL-OCT – After an early breakfast you will continue by road to the Serengeti. Enjoy lunch at the Miracle Restaurant in the Central Serengeti before continuing game viewing as you head north to your camp.  Arrive to your camp late in the afternoon. Overnight Migration Camp.

Day 07+08

Serengeti

Enjoy two days of private game viewing.   An optional balloon safari can be arranged (additional fees apply). Overnight Pioneer Camp or Migration Camp.

Day 09

Serengeti / Arusha / Kilimanjaro

Game drive en route to the airstrip for your scheduled charter flight to Arusha.  On arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel where a dayroom has been reserved until this evening’s airport transfer.  Enjoy lunch at your hotel. Evening transfer to the Kilimanjaro International Airport.
