Itinerary Description

On these special AAC Signature departures – experience the thrill of two gorilla treks in Uganda’s Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. You travel as a small group (6 persons maximum) driving from park to park with your driver/guides. Vehicles are 4x4’s with seven seats.
Begin your primate experience with chimp trekking in Kibale Forest. Game viewing is a hidden delight with game drive opportunities looking for wildlife at Queen Elizabeth in the open plains.

Day by Day Itinerary

Day 01+02

Arrive Entebbe

Arrive Entebbe, Uganda. On arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Enjoy the evening at leisure. 2 nights Entebbe Forest Lodge.

Day 03+04

Kibale

This morning you will board a scheduled charter flight to Kasese airstrip, where you will meet your guide and vehicle and drive to Kibale Forest (1.5 hours). You will pass through forest and tea plantations. On Day 03, you will depart on morning and afternoon chimp treks. The chimp walk is on well-marked trails in this beautiful rain forest where there is very little undergrowth due to the full canopy overhead. Even though considered easy, it is advisable to wear trekking boots and have rain gear available. Lasting for three to five hours the main objective is to see chimps in their natural habitat 2 nights Primate Lodge.

Day 05

Queen Elizabeth National Park

Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park (3-4 hours) following the Ruwenzori Mountain Range. Enjoy a late afternoon private boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel. Overnight Elephant Plains Lodge.

Day 06+07

Ishasha Region

Following breakfast, enjoy a game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park. In the afternoon depart to your camp in the Ishasha Region, enjoying a game drive enroute. Day 07 – Enjoy a day of game viewing in the Ishasha region of Queen Elizabeth National Park. 2 nights Ishasha Wilderness Camp.

Day 08

Bwindi

Enjoy an early morning game drive and then continue by road to your camp in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. Overnight Buhoma Lodge.

Day 09+10

Bwindi

This morning you will depart on your first gorilla trek taking a picnic lunch with you. What a thrill to get up close with “Gorillas in the Mist” in the Buhoma region of Bwindi Forest! Your viewing of the gorillas will be limited to a maximum of only one hour. One must be prepared for a strenuous hike of 1-6 hours each way; however 2-3 hours is more usual. A further day at leisure to either participate in an additional gorilla trek or enjoy an other local activities (additional costs apply). 2 nights Buhoma Lodge.

Day 11

Bwindi/Entebbe

This morning you will transfer to the Kihihi Airstrip for your scheduled charter flight to Entebbe. On arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel. A dayroom has been reserved for you (inclusive of lunch at the hotel’s restaurant – drinks payable directly). Dayroom: Hotel No.5.

This evening you will be transferred to the airport for your departing flight.
