Kyle, Violeta, and Rhonda on AAC’s Labor Day Safari Spectacular to MalaMala and Cape Town
Day 1: Kyle made it to Cape Grace Hotel and was welcomed with some generous goodies as he celebrated his birthday on arrival.
Day 2: Today started with a scenic helicopter tour to see the Cape Peninsula from the air, followed by an exhilarating journey that flew Kyle to the foothills of Constantiaberg. They made a pitstop at Millers Point for a coffee break and finished at Klein Constantia for a wine tasting, courtesy of Cape Town Helicopters.
Afterwards, Kyle tasted the flavors of the Mother City on The Cape Town Eats City Walking Tour, with courtesy of Cape Fusion Tours. Tasty local cuisine included Cape Malay foods, Bobotie and Malva pudding, a rooibos tea tasting, and the best gelato on earth.
Day 3: Kyle spent the day strolling through the beautiful Dylan Lewis Sculpture Garden and enjoyed lunch at Spek & Bone (and of course more gelato)!
In the afternoon, Violeta and Rhonda arrived in Cape Town and met Kyle at The Alphen Boutique Hotel, a timeless charm in the heart of Constantia.
They also had special guests joining in on the rest of their South Africa safari – Mr. and Mrs. Kallberg.
Day 4: Kyle, Violeta, Rhonda, and the Kallbergs departed on a Private Cape Peninsula Tour today.
The African Penguins are always a highlight!
Lunch at Saveur Restaurant in Simonstown. Dinner at Constantia Glen to end a successful day.
Day 5: Another day of exploring! This morning the group departed on a Full Day City Tour.
This included a visit to the top of Table Mountain, lunch at The Waterside on the V&A Waterfront (see Kyle’s favorite chocolate treat below), and dinner at Tryn to conclude a day well spent.
Day 6: Welcome to MalaMala!
The group was eager to depart on their first game drive (first ever for everyone, except Kyle).
Day 7 & 8: They enjoyed two full days of thrilling game viewing at MalaMala, including a guided nature walk.
Day 9: On the day of departure, the lovely staff of MalaMala prepared a delicious bush breakfast for the group, making for a bittersweet goodbye.
But as we know… this is not goodbye, it’s see you later!
