Itinerary Description

Uganda, "The Pearl of Africa", is situated astride the Equator and boasts a wide and diverse landscape - from rugged, snow-capped mountains to the vast flat lands. This is a country that is still unspoiled by tourism and where you explore the forested areas for  chimpanzees and mountain gorillas. Accommodations are in rustic style lodges and permanent tented camps. You travel to both forest areas and parks of grassy plains and savannah woodlands. Your adventure includes 2 chimp treks in Kibale and 2 gorilla treks in Bwindi. We have included two scheduled charter flights which enhances your safari and eliminates long drives.

Day by Day Itinerary

Day 01

Entebbe

On arrival, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Overnight Hotel No. 5.

Day 02

Kibale

This morning transfer to the domestic airport where you will board your scheduled charter flight to Kasese airstrip. On arrival you will meet your guide and vehicle and drive to Kibale Forest (1.5 hours). You will pass through forest and tea plantations. Continue to your lodge. 2 nights Ndali Lodge or Primate Lodge.

Day 03

Kibale

An early start to meet your guide and enter the forest in search of chimpanzees and ten other primate species including red colobus monkey, blues, red tails and grey-cheeked mangabey. Overnight Ndali Lodge or Primate Lodge.

Day 04

Bwindi

Drive to Fort Portal and continue by Queen Elizabeth National Park following the Ruwenzori Mountain Range. Continue to Bwindi arriving late this afternoon. The Bwindi Impenetrable Forest is an unremitting belt of montane forest that is the home to mountain gorillas and other rare primates.3 nights Mahogany Springs Lodge, Bwindi Lodge or Gorilla Forest Camp.

Day 05

Bwindi

This morning you will depart on your first gorilla trek taking a picnic lunch with you with eight trekkers total plus your guides, armed rangers and any porters that you hire to carry your backpacks. Overnight Mahogany Springs Lodge, Bwindi Lodge or Gorilla Forest Camp.

Day 06

Bwindi

Second gorilla visit. Overnight Mahogany Springs Lodge, Bwindi Lodge or Gorilla Forest Camp.

Day 07

Bwindi/Entebbe

Depart by scheduled charter flight to Entebbe. A dayroom has been reserved for you until your departing flight. Dayroom: Protea Hotel Entebbe.
