This exciting new safari highlights the best Rwanda has to offer! Begin your adventure in Akagera National Park offering wildlife game drives, boating and fantastic birding. Your adventure ends with the ultimate thrill - Mountain gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park (Parc National des Volcans)!
You will be met on arrival and transferred to your hotel. Enjoy the evening at leisure. Overnight Kigali Serena or The Retreat.
This morning you will be picked up by your private guide and vehicle and transfer to Akagera National Park.
Based on Ruzizi – Continue to your lodge. Enjoy lunch in camp followed by an afternoon private game drive.
Based on Magashi – Park formalities will take place in the vehicle. Once within the park, you will switch to a 4-wheel drive camp safari vehicle and continue game viewing to camp. Enjoy lunch in camp followed by an afternoon game activity. Overnight Ruzizi Tented Lodge or Magashi.
Enjoy two days of game viewing activities including game drives, boating and catch and release fishing. 2 nights Ruzizi Tented Lodge or Magashi.
This morning you will depart with your private driver for Volcanoes National Park. The drive will take you across the Rwandan countryside. Enjoy lunch enroute at a local restaurant. Arrive to your lodge and check in, enjoying the remainder of the day at leisure. Overnight Sambora Kinigi Lodge.
Experience your first gorilla trek.
Your day starts with an early morning wake-up (approx 5:30am) and then a transfer (approx 6:15am) to the park gate at Kinigi for your first gorilla visit (6:30am). Here you will meet your tracker and the day will be spent tracking the mountain gorillas. Your viewing of the gorillas will be limited to a maximum of only one hour. One must be prepared for a strenuous hike of four to six hours. Return to your lodge following the trek. Overnight Sambora Kinigi Lodge.
This morning depart on a Golden Monkey trek. Your viewing of the Golden Monkeys will be limited to a maximum of only one hour. Next morning you will depart on your second gorilla trek. 2 nights Sambora Kinigi Lodge.
This morning you will drive back to Kigali and have a City Tour of Kigali including a visit to the Genocide Museum and the local market. An optional visit at the Women for Women Organization can also be arranged. Lunch is included and will be served in a local restaurant. You will be transferred to the airport for your onward scheduled flight.
