Egypt was amazing and all that you arranged for us was fantastic!!

Kudos to your ground team.  Every staff member was where we expected when we expected, and more.  As you said, you expect one person and three might show up!  It was especially comforting to know that they had been trying to figure out what happened to us on the front end when we were trying to let all of you know what was happening.  There are a few people who were particularly great—Sam (transportation around Cairo), Samah (guide in Cairo), and Romani (guide for second half of cruise excursions)!…

With the accommodations, WOW!!  The boat and the hotel in Aswan were outstanding.  Luxurious and well beyond our expectations, which started high from what you’d said!  You may have been directly involved with our upgrades on the ship and at the Old Cataract.  If not, please know how great your partners are!!  It was lovely to have floor-to-ceiling windows on the boat to gaze at the Nile in our rooms.  The entire ship was dazzling and the staff was incredible.  There was a particular crew member (Bonzai!) who gave special attention and humor to Emma, playing Uno with us for a few minutes a couple of times.  Delightful.  At the Old Cataract, a young staff member was giddy when escorting us to our suites as “the best in the hotel” and we honestly thought there was a mistake…incredible and too bad we couldn’t stay there longer!  The Mena House was also amazing…to sit on our balcony and at breakfast literally at the base of the pyramids was surreal.

You know how incredible the sites are and there is no way we could pick a favorite.  Standouts were Abu Simbel, the Temple of Karnak, felucca adventure with a small/quick sandstorm (we were totally safe and taken care of, if unnerved slightly for a few minutes!), going inside the Great Pyramid (yikes!), and riding camels around the pyramids on Christmas Day.

I plan to post some pictures on your page and my own soon.  For now, I’m attaching the one we choose for our New Year’s (sub for Christmas) cards below!

Dynasty and Desert Tour to Morocco

Hi Alison and all at AAC,

We had a lovely trip to Morocco, the highlights being our time in the desert with the camel ride, and our hike in the Atlas Mountains/ Ourika Valley.

The services provided by your ground team were well orchestrated on the ground. Zineb ensured that we were able to have our desert experience despite the schedule being altered by one day. Zineb remained in regular contact and made herself available to us throughout the remainder of the trip…

Our driver, Hicham Talat, was a respectful, kind and polite young man who was intelligent and skilled behind the wheel. We always felt safe with his driving.

Our guide, Jawad, was knowledgeable about the imperial cities, Islamic culture and architecture. We appreciated his experience and intimate knowledge of Moroccan life.

Our accommodations were well suited and we appreciated staying in the small boutique places rather than chain hotels.

Overall, our Morocco trip was enjoyable, diverse, with kind people and beautiful landscapes…
