Itinerary Description

Begin in Kenya which is a top safari destination and a rich diversity of both wildlife and culture. Fly from camp to camp, each with its own unique design reflecting its natural surroundings and the involvement with local communities. Activities in the safari camps are varied and include morning and afternoon game drives, escorted walks, cultural interaction with Maasai, morning picnics and sundowners.
Continue to Egypt where you will have the services of a PRIVATE Egyptologist for your tours in Cairo and throughout your four-night Nile cruise.

Day by Day Itinerary

Day 01

Arrive Nairobi

Upon arrival in Nairobi, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Overnight Tamarind Tree Hotel.

Day 02-04

Amboseli

After breakfast transfer to the local airport for your onward scheduled charter flight to Amboseli. On arrival you will be transferred to your camp. Enjoy an afternoon game drive in Amboseli. Activities are varied include game drives in open-top Land Rovers, morning picnics or sundowners – all the more spectacular thanks to the presence of Mt. Kilimanjaro. Enjoy two full days of activities. 3 nights Tortilis Camp.

Day 05-07

Maasai Mara

Depart this morning on an onward scheduled charter flight to the Maasai Mara. Enjoy an afternoon game drive. Enjoy two days of game viewing activities. Optional balloon safari is available. 3 nights Kicheche Mara North.

Day 08

Maasai Mara/Nairobi

Today you will transfer to the airstrip for your scheduled charter flight to Nairobi. On arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel. A private vehicle and driver will be at your disposal to take you for some optional touring (entrance fees/lunch payable directly). Enjoy the evening at leisure. Overnight Tamarind Tree Hotel.  

Day 09

Nairobi/Cairo

Early this morning you will be transferred to the airport for your scheduled inter-Africa flight to Cairo. On arrival in Cairo you will be met by a representative and transferred to your hotel (early check-in guaranteed). Enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure. Overnight Four Seasons Nile Plaza.

Day 10+11

Cairo

Today with your private driver and Egyptologist you will have a full day of sightseeing. Your day will include a visit to the new Grand Egyptian Museum, Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx. Lunch is included and will be arranged at Abu Shakra restaurant. In the late afternoon you will be transferred back to your hotel. Next morning you will have a full day of sightseeing. Your day will include a visit to Memphis, Sakkara,  the Citadel of Salah El Din (Saladin), Mohammed Ali Mosque, old churches and Synagogue. This afternoon you will drive through old Cairo and the old Bazaar for sightseeing and shopping. 2 nights Four Seasons Nile Plaza.

Day 12

Cairo/Luxor

You will be met and transferred to Cairo Airport in time for your flight.  Depart on your scheduled flight to Luxor. On arrival you will be met and privately transferred to the port where you will board your ship for the Nile Cruise. After check-in and lunch, depart with your private Egyptologist and visit the Karnak and Luxor Temples – a holy city built over the centuries and dedicated to the God Amon-Ra, his consort, and their son Khonsu. This evening enjoy a belly dancer show in the ship’s lounge. The ship is docked overnight in Luxor. Overnight Sonesta St. George 1 Nile Cruise Ship.

Day 13

Esna

Following breakfast, you will visit Luxor’s West Bank – Thebes.  Sightseeing includes the Valley of the Kings, and the Valley of the Queens, the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut at El-Deir El- Bahari and the colossi Memnon. Following the tour, the ship sails on to Esna. Enjoy lunch onboard followed by a tour of the Greco-Roman Temple of Khnum at Esna. The ship is docked overnight in Esna. Overnight Sonesta St. George 1 Nile Cruise Ship.

Day 14

Kom Ombo

This morning you will sail to Edfu. Following breakfast, you will visit Edfu’s Temple of Horus (built in 237BC), to honor the Falcon God. This afternoon sail to Kom Ombo where you will visit Kom Ombo to see the temple with its beautiful murals and exceptional view of the river Nile. This evening is an “Egyptian Night” costume party. The ship is docked overnight in Kom Ombo. Overnight Sonesta St. George 1 Nile Cruise Ship.

Day 15

Aswan

The ship sails to Aswan arriving early in the morning. This morning you will visit Aswan’s High Dam, Unfinished Obelisk and Philae Temple. Enjoy an afternoon felucca sail on the Nile and visit the Botanical Garden. This evening enjoy a Folkloric show and a Dervish show after dinner. The ship is docked overnight in Aswan. Overnight Sonesta St. George 1 Nile Cruise Ship.

Day 16

Aswan

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight to Abu Simbel. At Abu Simbel you will have a private local guide and visit the Temples of Ramses and his favorite wife Nefartari. Fly back to Aswan. You are met and privately transferred to your hotel. Enjoy the evening at leisure. Overnight Sofitel Legend Old Cataract Aswan Hotel.

Day 17

Cairo

Depart on your scheduled flight to Cairo. On arrival you will be met by a representative and transferred to your hotel.  Enjoy the evening at leisure. Overnight Intercontinental Semiramis Nile Hotel.

 
Day 18

Cairo

You will be met and transferred to Cairo Airport in time for your flight.  Depart on your flight to the USA.
