Itinerary Description

This trip is ideal for those looking for a “Gourmet Adventure” featuring excellent cuisine and fine wines at deluxe hotels in the Cape and luxury safari lodges in the private reserves near Kruger. Experience the unforgettable experience on the luxury Rovos Rail train from Pretoria to Cape Town. End with a safari to a private game reserve on the boundaries of Kruger Park featuring "Big Five" game viewing and luxurious accommodations.

Day by Day Itinerary

Day 01+02

USA/Johannesburg

Depart today on your overnight international flight to Johannesburg, South Africa. On arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Overnight The Saxon Hotel or Four Seasons Westcliff.

Day 03-05

Rovos Rail - Pretoria to Cape Town

Enjoy the morning at leisure. This afternoon you will be transferred to the Pretoria train station where you will board Rovos Rail – a legend of luxury. Following morning you will arrive in Kimberley where you take a tour around “the big hole” and have lunch at the Kimberley Club. Continue overnight to Matjiesfontein. 3 nights Rovos Rail – Deluxe Suite

Day 06-08

Cape Town

Upon arrival Matjiesfontein take a stroll around the village. Continue on to Cape Town arriving at 6:00pm this evening. You will be met and transferred to your hotel. Enjoy the days at leisure. Touring is optional to allow you to make your own choices too either a scheduled group tour or with a private guide and vehicle (highly recommended). 3 nights Cape Grace Hotel, Ellerman House or One&Only Cape Town.

Day 09+10

Winelands

This morning you will be picked up at your hotel and have a full day tour of the winelands. Following your tour you will be transferred to your lovely hotel. You will visit one of the wineries for a cellar tour and learn about the winemaking methods practiced here and sample some of their delicious wines. Spend the day at leisure exploring the villages and the surrounding area. 2 nights Babylonstoren or La Residence.

Day 11-13

Private Game Reserve

This morning you will be transferred to the airport for your scheduled flight to Skukuza, Mpumalanga or Hoedspruit airport near Kruger. Continue by road transfer (for MalaMala or Royal Malewane) or a scheduled charter flight (for Singita) to a private game reserve. Game rangers will meet you and take you to your camp located in a Private Game Reserve. Enjoy days of game viewing. 3 nights MalaMala Rattray’s, Waterside at Royal Malewane, Singita Ebony Lodge or Singita Boulders.

Day 14+15

Game Reserve/Skukuza or Mpumalanga or Hoedspruit/Johannesburg/USA

After a morning game drive depart by road transfer to Skukuza (for MalaMala), Hoedspruit (for Waterside at Royal Malewane) or board a scheduled charter flight to Mpumalanga (for Singita). Onward scheduled inter-Africa flight to Johannesburg. Continue on your overnight flight. Welcome home!
