Tembo Plains Camp

Premium An extremely luxurious lodge or permanent tented camp (five-star) with superb cuisine and excellent service, swimming pool and, many of them, with a private “plunge” pool (small swimming pool) for each chalet or tent. Lodges and chalets are air-conditioned, while the tents may be air-conditioned or fan-cooled.

Tembo Plains is tucked away into a thick riverine forest on the edge of the Zambezi River, in the private Sapi Private Reserve, east of Mana Pools National Park. The luxury camp has four suites, with a design that uniquely combines canvas and stone walls (in reference to Great Zimbabwe). Each has its own private indoor lounge area, outdoor swimming pool (with exercise bikes on an expansive veranda) and outdoor dining area. Stunning, handmade bathtubs with indoor and outside showers give the suite a sense of ‘home’. The beautiful 2-bedroomed Tembo Suite comprises two suites flanking a shared lounge, dining area and pool. In the central area, there is a wine cellar, interactive 5-star kitchen and spa, hidden discreetly behind beautifully weathered Zanzibar doors.

Activities include early morning and late afternoon game viewing in an open 4×4 wildlife-viewing vehicle, guided walks, canoeing and boating.
