Wolwedans Desert Lodge

Classic A deluxe lodge or tented camp, almost all with swimming pools, excellent food and service, large nicely appointed rooms or tents with comfortable beds and tasteful decor; most of the lodges have air-conditioning and the tents are usually fan-cooled.

Wolwedans Desert Lodge is nestled in the heart of NamibRand Nature Reserve, amidst the dunes in a totally unspoiled setting. The entire lodge is constructed on wooden platforms and overlooks panoramic vistas in all directions. Each of the eight spacious and comfortable chalets features a private verandah and an en suite bathroom. The front section of each chalet can be opened allowing for magnificent 180-degree views over stretches of untouched sand.

The “lapa” area where guests meet for “sundowners”, dinner and breakfast opens out onto a verandah with more superb views of the surroundings. A spacious deck with a fireplace provides a wonderful atmosphere for relaxing and stargazing.

Activities include desert drives, game viewing and walking trails. While this arid desert area is not a game-rich area, you will find an exciting variety of large and small desert creatures across this diverse canvas of contrasting landscapes.
