Tswalu The Motse
Tswalu The Motse faces westward towards the grasslands of the Tswalu Kalahari Reserve. Designed to blend inconspicuously into the mountain range, this luxurious lodge is surrounded by nine spacious suites, including 3-family suites, and accommodates a maximum of 18 guests. Each of the air conditioned suites features a spacious bedroom, en suite bathroom, both inside and outside showers, separate dressing area, lounge with open fire place, Wi-Fi, complimentary bar with spirits, mixers, coffee-tea station and homemade gourmet snack pantry. In between game activities enjoy relaxing on your private deck featuring a sun and star-bed.
The main lodge is decorated with an eclectic mix of traditional décor, rich fabrics and unique artisan pieces. The Motse boasts a photographic studio, National Geographic library, indoor-outdoor dining areas and walk-in wine cellar with its center piece a vast open fireplace soaring up high into its roof. A veranda overlooks the outdoor heated swimming pool and pool terrace.
Activities offered include day and night game drives and walking safaris, and horseback riding. Visits to Mokwalo, renowned for its San Bushman rock engravings and tools dating to late Stone Age, can be arranged.
The Malori Star-Bed allows you to sleep out under the dazzling Kalahari night sky. The private retreat features a king-size bed on a raised deck located in the middle of the reserve. Luxurious linens, robes and slippers, adjacent bathroom offer comfort. You will be transferred to the star-bed in time for sundowners, followed by dinner and breakfast is served the next morning (maximum of 4 people – additional charges apply).
A single-engine helicopter is available for private helicopter flights and excursions to nearby points of interest and historical landmarks (maximum of 4 people – additional charges apply).
