Ol Donyo Lodge

Premium An extremely luxurious lodge or permanent tented camp (five-star) with superb cuisine and excellent service, swimming pool and, many of them, with a private “plunge” pool (small swimming pool) for each chalet or tent. Lodges and chalets are air-conditioned, while the tents may be air-conditioned or fan-cooled.

Ol Donyo Lodge is set on a 270,000-acre Maasai Group Ranch in the foothills of the Chyulu Range, halfway between Tsavo West, Amboseli National Park and Chyulu Hills National Park. Guests of the lodge have panoramic views of Mt. Kilimanjaro and exclusive access to the ranch. Ol Donyo Lodge features ten expansive guest suites in six stand alone villas, each with private plunge pool. All bedrooms have spacious en suite bathrooms, an indoor and outdoor shower and bath, flush toilet. A unique feature of each villa is the rooftop sundowner/ “star bed” spot. From here you will be able to enjoy the view of Mt . Kilimanjaro and even safely sleep out under the stars. The living and dining area features an elegant, homey atmosphere. The dining room includes an outdoor brunch area under the acacia tree. There is also a swimming pool to enjoy between activities.

Activities offered are game drives in open -top Land Rovers, horseback riding and escorted walks on the plains; mountain biking, morning picnics or sundowners - all the more spectacular thanks to the presence of Mt. Kilimanjaro. The walking, mountain biking, horseback riding and fly-tent-camping safaris provide a great opportunity to enjoy the natural surroundings up close. Note: The fly-camping must be booked in advance and riding subject to availability.

Due to a diverse habitat, a wide range of wildlife is found here including the “Big Five”. Perhaps the greatest charm, however, lies in the vast and mainly uninhabited panorama dominated by the snow capped Mt. Kilimanjaro.
