Kulala Desert Lodge

Vintage A lodge or tented camp with very good food and service, and many have swimming pools. The rooms/tents are of good size but perhaps not as large as "Classic" properties. Facilities could be "Class A," but located in a sub-standard game-viewing area.

Kulala Desert Lodge sits on the boundary of Sossusvlei. Each of the 15 "Kulalas" offers en suite facilities and a private veranda with stunning views of the famous Sossusvlei dunes. In addition, your own rooftop sleeping area allows you a unique opportunity to enjoy a night under the spectacular desert sky.

Activities include morning visits to the Sossusvlei dunes, desert breakfasts under the camel-thorn acacia trees, and a visit to the Sesriem Canyon. Afternoon activities are taken on the private reserve, adjacent to Sossusvlei, taking in the desert scenery, the flora and perhaps a chance to see the animals like springbok, gemsbok and ostrich that survive in this harsh environment. Optional morning balloon safari is also offered at an additional cost.
