Hoanib Valley Camp

Vintage A lodge or tented camp with very good food and service, and many have swimming pools. The rooms/tents are of good size but perhaps not as large as "Classic" properties. Facilities could be "Classic," but located in a sub-standard game viewing area.

Hoanib Valley Camp is located in Namibia’s Hoanib Region, one of Africa’s most remote and wild environments. The camp is a joint venture between the local communities and giraffe expert Dr. Julian Fennessy. Accommodation includes six spacious tents that are built on wood and bamboo decks, en suite bathroom with indoor-outdoor showers, shaded front porch and decorated with locally sourced furniture and art. The main lounge area is the ideal place to gather between activities and includes comfortable sitting area, bar and dining room. Between activities, relax by the refreshing swimming pool and shaded deck.

Activities include game drives to track desert adapted lion, elephant and giraffe, nature walks, rhino tracking, cultural experiences with the Himba and Herero people, game drives to the Skeleton Coast National Park and star gazing. Giraffe research interaction experience may also be available (on request, additional cost applies).
