Grootbos was a great place to recover from the flight.  The drive from the airport was very scenic and not too tiring.  The accommodations, staff, and food were exceptionally fine.  We were in the Forest Lodge, which I would strongly recommend over the Garden due to its smaller size, better integration into the landscape and more open views.  The reserve is very beautiful, and the staff botanist did a great job of taking us on hikes and drives.  He really encouraged James's enthusiasm.  We would love to return and hike into the hills.
