Wilfred was born in 1974 at the Arusha region. After completing his secondary education in 1999, he joined Mwewe Rangers Training School in 2000 for a year course in Guiding. He began his guiding career and continued his education which resulted in him being awarded the Level 3 Guiding Certificate. He later attended a Birding (Ornithology) course at Naivasha in Kenya.

He is married and has two children a daughter Laryn (born 2007) and a son Raymond (born 2010). Wilfred likes playing and watching soccer and he is a big fan of Arsenal Football Club, watching movies and reading novels.
