Pafuri Tented Camp

Classic A deluxe lodge or tented camp, almost all with swimming pools, excellent food and service, large nicely appointed rooms or tents with comfortable beds and tasteful decor; most of the lodges have air-conditioning and the tents are usually fan-cooled.

Pafuri Camp’s accommodations consist of 20 tented rooms (including six family rooms), each with en suite bathroom facilities. The tented rooms all look out over the Luvuvhu River and you can sit on your private deck and watch for elephant, nyala, waterbuck or bushbuck (to name but a few) coming down to drink. Large herds of elephant and buffalo are frequently seen as are lion, leopard and prolific bird life. Recently, white rhino have been introduced to the area.

Located in a concession in the far north of Kruger National Park, activities here include off-road day and night game drives in open vehicles, guided walks and game viewing by hides.  One of the most interesting aspects of this area are its incredible structures that are not dissimilar to that found in the Great Zimbabwe. Throughout the concession, there is evidence of its human inhabitants, in the form of rock paintings and artifacts – under many of the baobab are Stone Age hand tools, such as hand axes, to be found.

Pafuri Walking Trail is a three-night, four-day walking trail occurring within arguably the best area for walking in the entire Kruger National Park. This area is blessed not only with exceptional biodiversity but also spectacular scenery and a feeling of wilderness and remoteness. This trail is led by an experienced armed guide and tracker. Accommodation is in walk-in dome tents.
