Nsefu Camp

Vintage A lodge or tented camp with very good food and service, and many have swimming pools. The rooms/tents are of good size but perhaps not as large as "Classic" properties. Facilities could be "Classic," but located in a sub-standard game viewing area.

Nsefu Camp is located near the Luangwa River in the central part of South Luangwa National Park. It has six brick and thatch rondavels with en suite facilities. The main lounge and bar is tucked beside a huge extinct termite mound and overlooks a waterhole that is very productive for game, especially the illusive leopard at night. Day and night game drives and morning walks are offered. In between game drives, there is a photographic hide next to the camp.

Traveler Feedback

Nsefu Staff and camp:  Rondavels were nice, but small…Staff was excellent.  Hot water bottles would have been appreciated on the sunrise drive.

Guides:   Braston and Chilumba were both excellent guides.  The walking safari with Braston was a nice option.  Game viewing was more abundant and more diverse.  Evening drives were productive.  Highlights included lions (2 groups of 8-10), leopard (1 morning and 2 evenings) and wild dogs (pack of nine).
