Maxa
Opening in March 2025, Maxa overlooks the permanent Maxa Lagoon in the northeastern reaches of the Okavango Delta. The camp consists of five tented rooms on decks, including one family tent, each with an en suite indoor as well as outdoor open-air bathrooms. The family tent has two bedrooms and a shared en suite indoor and outdoor bathroom.
Maxa’s unique appearance includes separate lounge and dining areas set under light canvas roofs, partially enclosed by traditional clay walls. The camp ‘courtyard’ with white delta sand underfoot, has picnic style tables where you can enjoy meals whilst shaded from the midday sun or under the stars each night. Overlooking the lagoon, you can relax between game activities in the camp’s sala, or taking in the beautiful surroundings from the elevated deck above.
Activities include mokoro, guided walking safaris and both day and night game drives. You will also be able to experience local cultural insights with the exploration of the natural heritage of this diverse region. With access to and from Maxa by helicopter, you will enjoy a short scenic flight over the beautiful Okavango.
