Lemala Ngorongoro Tented Camp

Classic A deluxe lodge or tented camp, almost all with swimming pools, excellent food and service, large nicely appointed rooms or tents with comfortable beds and tasteful decor; most of the lodges have air-conditioning and the tents are usually fan-cooled.

Lemala Ngorongoro is a tented camp close to the rim of the Ngorongoro caldera tucked in a wooded valley. Featuring nine expansive tents, each has an open verandah which is shaded, with canvas director's chairs and thoughtfully placed reading table. Inside, the bedroom features oversize windows allowing cool breezes and warm light to wash through, while keeping the insects outdoors. Electric light shines from a chandelier with a 220V plug for charging batteries and other devices. Immediately behind the bedroom is a change area with ceramic sink on a hand-carved wooden counter with large mirror. There is a flush toilet and the camp features hot and cold running water. In the winter months, there are small heaters and thick duvet covers to keep you warm. Three main meals are served by the skilled, friendly staff each day in the large canvas dining tent overlooking the plains, culminating with five-course dinners. Picnic meals can also be prepared for your full day game drives. In the evening sit in the light of a warm fire in a semi-circle of chairs.
