Larsen’s Tented Camp

Larsen's Tented Camp is located within the park on the banks of the Ewaso Nyiro River in Samburu National Reserve. There are 20 spacious tents with en suite facilities. Each tent has a porch overlooking the river. As the camp is situated in one of the prime wildlife locations in Africa the diversity of game and scenic beauty is excellent.

Morning and afternoon game drives, escorted nature walks, sun downers and bush picnics are offered. You will have the opportunity to meet the Samburu tribe people and experience their communion with the natural world. One in particular we like to support is Umoja Women’s village. Uaso Cultural Center is a living museum of Samburu culture and is the actual home of the people you will find there.  The center is owned and managed by Umoja Uaso Women Group. This is a group of 48 women who have registered the self-help group in an attempt to improve their welfare and support preservation of Samburu culture.  Part of the proceeds from visits and purchase of handicrafts at Uaso go towards supporting a pre-school for children from the center and the neighboring community.
