Kibale Lodge
Kibale Lodge sits on a ridge with stunning views of the Rwenzori Mountains towards the west and the Queen Elizabeth plains and Kazinga channel to the south. The 150-acre site is on the hills around Fort Portal and a short 30-minute drive to Kibale Forest, the base for chimpanzee trekking. With eight unique hand-built luxury bandas, each has its own private terrace and en suite bathroom with indoor and outdoor shower with hot and cold running water. There is a personal butler service for all guests and the opportunity to take advantage of the Kibale Forest Spa with two double massage rooms, sauna and swimming pool. Kibale Lodge is the ideal base for chimpanzee trekking in Kibale Forest, taking part in chimpanzee rehabilitation, birding at Bigodi Wetland Swamp and hiking the Rwenzori Mountains. On the cultural and community side, there is an opportunity to visit schools participating in the Roots and Shoots program and visit the Rwenzori Sculpture Foundation.
