Encounter Mara

Vintage A lodge or tented camp with very good food and service, and many have swimming pools. The rooms/tents are of good size but perhaps not as large as "Classic" properties. Facilities could be "Classic," but located in a sub-standard game viewing area.

Encounter Mara is located in the Naboisho Conservancy, a private game concession east of the Maasai Mara Reserve. The camp features ten permanent tents each with en suite bathroom with flushing toilets and hot-water safari bucket shower. Enjoy spending time on the private veranda with views of the open savannah. The camp utilizes solar power and has convenient battery charging facilities.

The region is host to a variety of animals including the big cats, elephants, giraffe, plains animals and rare wild dogs. The Conservancy limits the number of visitors by holding on to a ratio of one tent per 700 acres. No crowded vehicles, but guaranteed spectacular, unspoiled and exclusive views of wildlife. Activities include morning and night game drives, guided bush walks, community and cultural visits. Fly camping and balloon safaris can also be arranged (additional costs apply).
