Erasto Macha

Erasto joined the Asilia guiding team in 2012, starting at Oliver’s in Tarangire National Park. He loved sharing the magic of this diverse park with guests, watching congregations of elephants at the Silale swamps and spotting the many bird species, and spotting seldom-seen wildlife on night game drives.

When Asilia opened Namiri Plains in 2014, offering the chance to explore this wild eastern area of the Serengeti that had been closed to visitors for 20 years, Erasto was a key part of the guiding team. He has spent many hours exploring some of Tanzania’s most remote corners of the bush, setting up mobile camps before his time at Asilia, hosting guests and tracking almost every animal you can imagine. As a professional walking guide, he is now leaving his footprints along the Mara River, as he heads up the Sayari guiding team in the north of the Serengeti.

Erasto is a humble family man with a wealth of experience in nature and guiding guests. He loves spending time with guests in the bush and is passionate about life.
