About Zambia

A safari in Zambia is a truly wild, romantic and off the beaten track experience. Named after the mighty Zambezi River, the country set aside a staggering 32% of its land for conservation. Offering beautiful scenery, extraordinary game viewing, pristine wildernesses, exceptional safari guides, superb luxury lodges and intimate bush camps, a safari in Zambia is an adventure.

Walking safaris are Zambia’s forté. On foot, your senses are heightened; watching and listening for tell-tale signs adds that extra thrill. In addition, the camps and lodges offer boating, canoeing, day and night game drives, hot-air ballooning and photographic hides. Generally, game viewing is most rewarding between the dry season months of June and October.

Wildlife Areas of Zambia

The sheer natural beauty, coupled with the incredible variety and concentration of wildlife makes South Luangwa one of the finest national parks in Africa. Notably, this is where Norman Carr pioneered the walking safari. Lower Zambezi National Park streches for 75 miles along the Zambezi River. By and large, the focus is on water activities. Known for its impressive cheetah and lion populations, Kafue National Park differs scenically from Zambia’s other national parks due to its expansive wetlands. Victoria Falls, one of the 7 Natural Wonders of the World, is accessed from the nearby town of Livingstone.

This was our 5th trip with The AAC and it was our best trip ever.  It turned out to be an amazing adventure.  By the second or third day we felt the trip was totally worthwhile even if we saw or experienced nothing more.  And then it...
