Itinerary Description

This new safari travels to three areas of Zimbabwe focusing on two World Heritage sites, Mana Pools and Matobo Hills. All the camps you are staying at have recently been rebuilt and refurbished. You are staying in smaller, personalized accommodations that we feel will offer some of our most intimate guiding experiences as they are all owner-run. The quality of guiding is exceptional – this is a program where you are staying in camps that do not take more than 12-16 persons. Day by Day Itinerary

Day 01+02

USA/Johannesburg

Travel. On arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Enjoy the evening at leisure. Overnight African Rock Hotel.

Day 03-05

Mana Pools

This morning take the complimentary hotel shuttle to the airport for your inter-Africa flight to Harare. On arrival you will board your scheduled charter flight to Mana Pools National Park. You will be met by your guide and transferred to camp. Here you will be able to walk and take game drives, canoe or boat from the camp. Wildlife you may see are lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, hippos, kudu, waterbuck, eland and maybe the shy nyala. Enjoy morning and afternoon game viewing activities within Mana Pools National Park. 3 nights Vundu Camp or Ruckomechi Camp.

Day 06+07

Victoria Falls

You will be transferred to the airstrip for your scheduled charter flight to Victoria Falls. On arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel. The afternoon is a good time to view the falls (park entry fee US$30). Next morning enjoy a day at leisure. 2 nights Victoria Falls Hotel.

Day 08-10

Hwange

This morning transfer to the airport for your scheduled charter flight to Hwange National Park. On arrival you will be met and game drive to your camp. Activities include early morning and late afternoon in open 4×4 vehicles and walking safaris accompanied by an armed professional guide. The camp has hides overlooking the waterhole, which allow you to sit quietly and enjoy close up game viewing. Enjoy two days of game viewing activities. 3 nights Khulu Bush Camp, Little Makalolo. Linkwasha Camp or Somalisa Camp.

Day 11-13

Matobo Hills

After breakfast you will be transferred by vehicle to Matobo Hills National Park. (Please note – you will change vehicles at Hwange Main and continue in a different vehicle). Part of the park is an IPZ (Intensive Protection Zone) and contains one of the highest concentrations of black and white rhino in Africa. For the more adventurous you may choose to walk in the park to look for white and black rhino. Leopard are plentiful but are seldom seen. Enjoy two days of activities including game drives, guided walks, visits to ancient bushmen cave painting and to a local village and school. 3 nights Amalinda Lodge.

Day 14+15

Bulawayo/Johannesburg/USA

After breakfast you will be transferred to the Bulawayo airport. Board your scheduled flight to Johannesburg. Continue onward overnight to the USA. Welcome home!
