One of our classic programs where you visit the Chimpanzee reserve at Sweetwaters, game view in the vast plains of the Masai Mara, Kenya, and explore the forested areas in Rwanda for Mountain Gorilla. Accommodations in Kenya include the well-known Mara Intrepids camp and another permanent tented camp in the Mt. Kenya region. Mountain gorilla trekking in Volcano National Park (Parc National des Volcans) is by far Rwanda's major international attraction.

  • Day 01
  • Travel.
  • Day 02
  • Upon arrival in Nairobi this evening you will be transferred to your hotel. Overnight The Fairmont Norfolk Hotel.
  • Day 03+04
  • Fly to Nanyuki. Drive to Sweetwaters Camp, close to Mount Kenya. Activities include day and night game drives, escorted walks, and game viewing from the platform. 2 nights Sweetwaters Tented Camp.
  • Day 05-07
  • Fly to Masai Mara National Reserve. The flight will take you over the land of rolling hills and grasslands that support a great array of wildlife. Activities include group game drives, walking safaris in the Mara Conservation area, and visits to Masai communities supported by the camp. Riverside bush breakfasts, sundowners and dinners can be arranged. 3 nights Mara Intrepids Camp.
  • Day 08
  • Fly to Kigali, Rwanda. Upon arrival in Kigali you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Overnight Kigali Serena Hotel.
  • Day 09
  • Depart early this morning with your driver and vehicle to the park gate at Kinigi. Upon arrival you will be met by your tracker and depart on your first gorilla trek. Your viewing of the gorillas will be limited to a maximum of only one hour. Overnight Gorilla Nest Lodge.
  • Day 10
  • Today you will experience your second gorilla visit. Overnight Gorilla Nest Lodge.
  • Day 11+12
  • This morning you will be transferred back to Kigali where you will connect on your scheduled flight to Nairobi. Onward travel.
