These are two countries that are still unspoiled by tourism and where you explore the forested areas for chimpanzees and Mountain gorillas. Uganda, "The Pearl of Africa", is situated astride the Equator and boasts a wide and diverse landscape - from rugged, snow-capped mountains to the vast flat lands. Mountain gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park (Parc National des Volcans) is by far Rwanda's major international attraction. After the release of the feature film, Gorillas in the Mist, about the late Dian Fossey's pioneering work habituating the gorillas, interest in gorilla trekking reached new heights.

  • Day 01+02
  • Depart on your overnight international flight to Europe. Arrive Europe next morning. Connect to your flight to Entebbe. On arrival in Entebbe you will clear customs and be met by a representative and transferred to your hotel in Kampala. Overnight Kampala Serena Hotel.

  • Day 03+04
  • This morning you will be met by your guide and vehicle and drive to Kibale Forest(7 hours) with lunch en-route. You will pass through Fort Portal, forest and tea plantations. 2 nights Ndali Lodge or Kibale Primate Lodge.

  • Day 05+06
  • Optional morning forest walk to look for chimpanzees. Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park (3-4 hours) following the Ruwenzori Mountain Range. Take an afternoon game drive on the way to your lodge. 2 nights Mweya Lodge.

  • Day 07-09
  • Today you do a Maramagambo Forest Walk, visiting bat cave where one can see thousands of bats and possibly pythons and Monitor Lizards catching bats. Alternatively drive to the Ishasha Area for a game drive before continuing to Bwindi. Next morning you will depart on your first gorilla trek taking a picnic lunch with you. 3 nights Gorilla Forest Camp.

  • Day 10+11
  • After an early breakfast you will be transferred to Kisoro, via Mbarara. Here you will clear customs and be met by a representative and transferred to your lodge situated adjacent to Volcanoes National Park. Next morning you will be transferred to the park for your first gorilla trek in Rwanda. Here you will meet your tracker and the day will be spent tracking the mountain gorillas. 2 nights Gorilla Mountain View Lodge.

  • Day 12
  • Today you will experience your second gorilla trek in Rwanda. Overnight Gorilla Mountain View Lodge.

  • Day 13
  • Depart on your third gorilla trek (in Rwanda) before being driven back to Kigali having lunch en-route. Overnight Kigali Serena Hotel.

  • Day 14+15
  • After an early breakfast you will be transferred to the airport for your scheduled flight to Nairobi. An optional tour or dayroom may be booked. Depart on your evening overnight flight to Europe. Onward connecting flight to USA.
