Central Kalahari Game Reserve

The Central Kalahari Game Reserve covers 20,000-square-miles, one of the largest in the world, but is only a portion of the Kalahari Desert. Wildlife is not abundant, but does include hartebeest, springbok, gemsbok, ostrich, eland, brown hyena, lion, cheetah and giraffe — especially during the rainy season (December-April).
