Mashatu Game Reserve is comprised of 72,000 acres (29,000 hectares) of privately owned land within the Northern Tuli Game Reserve. This part of the country, at the junction of the borders of Botswana, South Africa and Zimbabwe, is marked by its ecological diversity (including open grassland, mopane veld, riverine forest, semi-arid bush savannah, marshland and sandstone outcrops), natural history (e.g. 80 million year old dinosaur footprints), and wildlife diversity.

The populations of elephant, lion, cheetah, eland, impala, wildebeest, giraffe, zebra, leopard, bat-eared fox, hyena, African wild cat, hyena, jackal and wild dog can be observed while on one of several activities offered. These include off-road game drives, walking safaris, night drives, photographic hides, horseback riding, and mountain biking.
