Jessica Fraser’s Family Adventure to Kenya

- Thursday, October 18, 2018

Join AAC’s Senior Safari Consultant Jessica Fraser and her family as they experience this iconic safari destination.

OCT 07: We landed safely in Nairobi and both flights went perfectly. Marie, our Swissport Meet & Greet person, was gracious and very helpful. AAC’s Nairobi Guide, Jonathan, is great. It was wonderful to finally meet him! We had a lovely evening at the Ole Sereni Hotel and ate a light dinner before bed.

OCT 08: We are on our way to Amboseli!

We have a great guide called Patrick. We had a very clear morning game drive and Randy and Nick got some good pics of Mt. Kilimanjaro on their cameras.

Tortilis Camp is a peaceful haven! It is delightfully quiet and I can only hear birds and my breath slowing down. Our tent is very comfortable and we can view elephants and zebra from the couch!

OCT 09: Fantastic first morning game drive in Amboseli. We saw lions, elephants, zebra, and ostriches mating! We enjoyed an afternoon walk with Jackson.

Tortilis has an amazing garden and beehive and the meals here have been delicious! The staff at Tortilis are so welcoming! Feeling so grateful to share this experience with my family!

OCT 10 - OCT 13: We’ve seen thousands of herds of wildebeest, as well as leopard, cheetah and a rhino at Salas. We also saw the incredible Serian pride of 20 lions in Mara North, as well as lions mating from Salas area.

OCT 14: Cottars 1920’s is such a classic camp! Our first ever canvas bath in the bush! A surreal experience! Extraordinary place!

OCT 15: At Giraffe Manor we had the famous breakfast with the giraffes.

I had a chance to meet the Safari Collection team who gave us a guided tour of Giraffe Manor.

OCT 16: Our last day in Nairobi was wonderful. We visited the Karen Blixen Museum and the Kazuri Beads Factory. It was amazing to see these talented ladies work. Tamambo restaurant was lovely.

Special moments at the elephant orphanage.

Relaxing at Hemingway’s before the long journey home.

The game viewing on this amazing safari has surpassed all of our expectations! The camps have all been so different and special and all the people we have met were so welcoming. We have so much to share with everyone when we return. Feeling so grateful!
