Omari Muyangala was born near the south shores of Lake Victoria. He attended schools in Mwanza, Nsumba and Dar-es-Salaam. After a year of national service he attended the Mweka Wildlife College which was his first step to a guiding career.
He moved to the Selous where he gained 4 years of invaluable bush knowledge, camp management and general hunting and safari operation skills. East African guides would not be east African guides without adventuring at the wheels of an overland truck and Omari did his season driving the safari route from Nairobi, Kenya to Livingstone, Zambia.
As an accomplished guide Omari leads our small, private tented safaris through the northern parks. He loves hiking and walking to be part of a safari trip as his past experiences have included a Nols Outdoor Leadership course where they walked for 40 days with a 60lb backpack, climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro (only 3 times!!!), and also the mountains of Mt Meru, Ol Donya Lengai and Mt. Kenya (Point Lenana).
Omari lives in Arusha with his wife, Fatima and three children Hamisi (born in 1986) and Luqman (1990) and Latifa (1996).
