Nick is married to Desiree Catterall, another Zimbabwe Professional guide, and between them they have over 40 years experience in the Bush. They are the proud parents to Jed and Tate who grew up on the shores of the Zambezi River.

In 2007 Nick and Des created Bushlife Safaris, well known for its world-class walking and canoe safaris. They also founded the Bushlife Conservancy, a 501(c)(3) charity funding conservation efforts in the Mana Pools vicinity, the Bushlife Support Unit, an anti-poaching unit, and the Bushlife Painted Wolf Conservancy, dedicated to the research and conservation of the endangered African Wild Dog. His expertise was recognized when selected as the lead guide for the Painted Wolf Episode of BBC Earth’s Dynasties series, narrated by Sir David Attenborough.
