Off the Mainland of Mozambique is the Bazaruto Archipelago which includes the islands of Bazaruto, Benguerra and Margaruque. Further north is the Quirimbas Archipelago very near the southern Tanzania coast.
Mozambique’s greatest attractions to the international traveler are its pristine beaches. For the true adventurer, the country holds large wildlife reserves of interest primarily to travellers looking for a remote bush experience and wishing to explore new territory or so see its amazing birdlife. Progressive conservation programs are underway to help wildlife concentrations come back to what they once were.
