Siwandu lies on the banks of Lake Nzerekera, a back water to the Rufiji River. Each of the 12 safari tents is on its own raised timber platform, affording guests an unmatched experience of the African bush. This area is highly populated with game and viewing from one's tent is often spectacular. Almost everyone comes here for the game and viewing from the open 4x4 vehicles, specially adapted for close-up game viewing, are made early morning and in the evening.
The camp offers game viewing by boat, an opportunity for you to obtain close-up photographs and views of the many hippo wallowing in the water and the large crocodiles lurking on the banks. Walking safaris are also a 'must do' here with the expert guides. In the afternoon, when it is hot, you may want to just lie around the pool.
