Sayari Camp is based in the northern region of the park, a gem of an area that is off the beaten path. The region features loads of resident game and is good to visit year round, peaking during the Migration crossings on the Mara River from July through October. The camp has two separate wings, one with nine tents and the other with six tents - each wing has their own dining tent serving top food and drinks and a cozy fire place and lounge/mess tent. The luxury tents feature comfortable beds and en suite bathroom facilities, with a private verandah overlooking the Serengeti landscape.
Activities include open vehicle game drives, fly camping expeditions and exceptional wildlife viewing. Walking safaris within the Serengeti are offered (additional charges apply). A cultural visit to the Wakuria villages gives you insight in the traditional ways of life. You will see the new vegetable growing program sponsored by Sayari in conjunction with the local community and the produce is purchased and used in the camp's cuisine.
"Camps were good, guides at Oliver's and Sayari were really good, food was great at all. Lot more vehicles than we are used to in southern Africa, particularly in the Serengeti but to be expected during the Great Migration in East Africa. Just started looking at pictures but plan to send you some later this year."
