Selous Safari Camp

Selous Safari Camp lies on the banks of Lake Nzerekera, a back water to the Rufiji River. Each of the twelve safari tents is on its own raised timber platform, affording guests an unmatched experience of the African bush.

This area is highly populated with game and viewing from one's tent is often spectacular. Almost everyone comes here for the game and viewing from the open 4x4 vehicles, specially adapted for close-up game viewing, are made early morning and in the evening. On the Rufiji River and its many tributaries, channels and lagoons, the camp offers game viewing by boat, an opportunity for guests to obtain close-up photographs and views of the many hippo wallowing in the water and the large crocodiles lurking on the banks. Walking safaris are also a ‘must do’ here, for the guides are extremely proficient at bringing the bush alive with stories. In the afternoon, when it is hot, you may just lie around the pool.
