Kulala Wilderness Camp has 10 thatch and canvas chalets on elevated wooden decks with stone en suite bathrooms. The tented rooms are linked to the main dining room, reception area and swimming pool by gravel pathways. A staircase leading up to the flat rooftop above the bathroom provides the ideal setting to sleep under the stars on a provided bedroll.
The main dining area and reception are built from canvas with thatch roofing and offers a homey and intimate atmosphere with a swimming pool, dining room and bar area. At night, lanterns light the main area.
Activities include morning visits to the Sossusvlei dunes, desert breakfasts under the camel-thorn acacia trees, and a visit to the Sesriem Canyon. Afternoon activities are taken on the private reserve, adjacent to Sossusvlei, taking in the desert scenery, the flora and perhaps a chance to see the animals like springbok, gemsbok and ostrich that survive in this harsh environment. Day trips into the Namib-Naukluft mountains and early morning ballooning (at an extra cost) can be arranged.
