Chitabe camp is located in a private concession area south of Moremi within the Okavango Delta.
This part of the Okavango Delta offers exciting big game viewing. The area offers diverse habitats ranging from open flood plain to permanent waterways and lagoons. All the Okavango big game can be found here, and there are excellent chances of spotting predators on the game drives. Buffalo and elephant are all found in this area, as well as good concentrations of zebra, wildebeest, giraffe and all the plains game. Wild dog and lion make their home in this tranquil and unspoiled area.
The reserve offers an enormous area for game viewing. Open 4x4 Land Rovers allow close proximity to animals in the savannah and forested areas. At night you may encounter creatures such as civet, serval, genet, pangolin, porcupine and aardvark.
Chitabe Camp is a 16 bedded tented camp raised off the ground on wooden decks and linked by elevated walkways; it also has a plunge pool. Each tent has en suite facilities. Day and night drives and morning walks are offered. There is also a Walking Trail where you may spend 1 or 2 nights in "sleep out" in the ides and walk out each day (please request additional information on this).
